Saturday 19th of August was a spectacular day for Mandy Dugdale. It was the day that she would be shaving her head for Macmillan Cancer Care in her local cancer research shop on Talbot road Blackpool.
It wasn’t to be a usual shave because she had roped in all her friends , family and associates. Her fellow Blackpool Soundwaves Barbershop buddies sang in the shop as she was shaved and it made for fun viewing as she was seen bopping on a chair in front of the shop window. Lots of money was raised for this fantastic charity and everyone including visitors to Blackpool enjoyed this amazing spectacle.
A visitor from Manchester that came into the cancer research shop said “this shows that community spirit hasn’t been lost in Blackpool.”
The ladies of Blackpool Soundwaves sang a flash mob of songs from their various repertoire. We all enjoyed the afternoon. Some ladies won prizes on the Tom-bola and others just enjoyed the atmosphere of singing some real Barbershop tunes!
