Friday the 12th of August was a great day to have a singout. Our ladies of Blackpool Soundwaves were performing at The Kingfisher Carehome in Thornton-Cleveleys. This would be our third time at this particular care home and nearly all the Carehome residents remembered us from earlyer in the year.
We started our repertoire with “Da Do Ron Ron “and some of the better known songs from that era. “The 59th Bridge street song” by Simon and Garfunkel was well received, The Beatles “With a little help from my friends” song was too.
We then sang a seaside medley that everyone joined in with. Our bubble machine was bubbling away and the residents were waving their flags, humming and tapping their feet along to the songs they all knew so well.
We sang three encores as everyone was having so much fun !
It was a great day and after the sing out we said goodbye to our audience like old friends with a hug and a farewell… Until next time!
